The ABLE Act, which I supported in Congress, allowed for the creation of accounts to help individuals with disabilities save for the future. Madison has Down syndrome, but that doesn't mean she shouldn't have the same opportunities as other children. The ABLE Act allows Madison's family to invest in her future and help ensure greater financial security for her life. <iqconnect.lmhostediq.com/iqextranet/Customers/VA06BG/SalvationA rmy.jpg> 2) Spreading Holiday Joy: Volunteers at the Salvation Army are helping to make Christmas morning a little more special for some families. In the Roanoke Valley, they've put together gifts for nearly 2,500 children, including 800 bikes! Thank you to all of the volunteers and donors who have helped spread joy this holiday season. <iqconnect.lmhostediq.com/iqextranet/Customers/VA06BG/IMG_4220.J PG> 3) Honoring A Public Servant: Last week, I visited with former Congressman and Secretary of the Army John O. Marsh, Jr., his son, Dr. Rob Marsh, and Melvin Bender. An exhibit honoring Congressman Marsh recently opened at the National Infantry Museum and Soldier Center in Columbus, Georgia, just outside Fort Benning, and I presented him with an entry in the Congressional Record recognizing the occasion. <iqconnect.lmhostediq.com/iqextranet/Customers/VA06BG/IMG_0043.J PG> 4) Serving The Community: The Pedlar Volunteer Fire Department played an important role in fighting the recent wildfire in Amherst County. Snapshots from the Sixth: 4 Photos

One of the most enjoyable parts of serving you in the House of Representatives is connecting with the folks that I represent and visiting the many communities that make up the Sixth District. As the 114th Congress comes to a close and families start to head out of town for the holidays, I wanted to share a few photos with you from some of the stops I've made in the Sixth District over the past few days.

1) An Exciting Day: On Tuesday, I had the great opportunity to join Madison and her family as they opened her ABLE savings account. The ABLE Act, which I supported in Congress, allowed for the creation of accounts to help individuals with disabilities save for the future. Madison has Down syndrome, but that doesn’t mean she shouldn’t have the same opportunities as other children. The ABLE Act allows Madison’s family to invest in her future and help ensure greater financial security for her life.

2) Spreading Holiday Joy: Volunteers at the Salvation Army are helping to make Christmas morning a little more special for some families. In the Roanoke Valley, they've put together gifts for nearly 2,500 children, including 800 bikes! Thank you to all of the volunteers and donors who have helped spread joy this holiday season.
