Patricia, I wanted to make sure you didn't miss the news from last week that Rep. Steve King (R-IA) introduced a bill that amounts to a total abortion ban. Republicans aren't wasting any time attacking women's health care, and this is the most extreme abortion ban ever introduced in Congress. This community has always fought back against these attacks. Patricia,

Rep. Steve King (R-IA) just introduced a bill that amounts to a total abortion ban.

It's a copycat of the "heartbeat bill" that recently passed in the Ohio legislature and the first of its kind introduced in Congress.

Congressional Republicans feel emboldened by the dangerous abortion legislation making its way through the states and they know they have Trump's support. That's a trend we need to stop immediately.

This community has stepped up every time congressional Republicans have introduced bills to limit women's ability to make their own health care decisions, and today, I'm counting on you again.

Donate $3 to help elect pro-choice Democratic women who will fight abortion bans at every level of government.

This bill bans abortion if a heartbeat is detected in a fetus, which can be as early as six weeks — and before many women even know they're pregnant. It also outlines jail time for any doctor who provides an abortion without checking for a heartbeat or proceeding if a heartbeat is detected.

The courts have struck down laws like this before to make it clear that such bans are unconstitutional.

But Republicans now feel like they have a shot at passing the most extreme anti-choice laws they can think of — and they might.

That's why we have to send a crystal clear message that there are consequences for attacking women and the right to choose.

Donate $3 to send a message to Steve King and any Republican who agrees with him that we will fight any bill that bans abortion:
