I started the week by traveling to Atlanta on Monday to speak at The King Center about the importance of strengthening our communities. Unity, I started the week by traveling to Atlanta on Monday to speak at The King Center about the importance of strengthening our communities. If you'd like to, you can view my remarks (here). At the invitation of the House and Senate, I traveled to D.C. on Thursday to participate in roundtable discussions on how to repeal and replace Obamacare. I also penned an op-ed in TIME about healthcare. Read it here. During my visit, I had the opportunity to meet with my friend, Sen. John McCain to talk about national security issues and my growing concerns about the future of international alliances that have long ensured the United States and its partner nations of a stable world and the free flow of ideas and trade. Sen. McCain also invited me to join him as part of the American delegation to the Munich Security Conference on Feb. 13th. I look forward to having the opportunity to continue stressing the importance of our strategic alliances as I recently did in this TIME op-ed. As part of the inaugural activities, I enjoyed participating in an Ohio Reception, along with many of our elected Republican leaders and party supporters. I was honored to attend the Inauguration on Friday morning and witness another peaceful transition of power - a hallmark in American democracy. Thank you for the fun conversation, Governors Malloy and Baker! Many of you have heard stories about "fake news" since the election and I just wanted to share with you that I think it insults Americans, is a disservice to serious journalism and poisons our democracy. Here is a recent example that should disturb all Americans. In my opinion, we should all strive to be honest with each other and accept some personal responsibility in believing everything we see online these days. Finally, I look forward to sharing details about my upcoming state budget in the weeks ahead to keep Ohio on strong financial footing, drive areas critical to job creation and embrace the future of technology. Thank you for your ongoing support and interest! -John John Kasich Governor of Ohio Paid for by Kasich for America www.JohnKasich.com This message was intended for: xxx You were added to the system March 3, 2016.
