Patricia, Last night, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell silenced Senator Elizabeth Warren as she read a letter from civil rights icon Coretta Scott King during debate over Alabama Senator Jeff Sessions' nomination for attorney general. Warren used the letter to underline her concerns about Sessions' history of derogatory and racist comments -- something that should absolutely be considered in evaluating an attorney general nominee. In a time when our new president's policies are singling out groups of people based on their religion or ethnicity and "alternative facts" are now the norm, we cannot remain silent. And we need more people like Elizabeth Warren who will speak the truth, no matter what Donald Trump, Mitch McConnell, or the GOP try to do. She was given an explanation. Nevertheless, she persisted." You can bet your bottom dollar she persisted. Elizabeth Warren and other EMILY's List women are fighting nonstop for the things we care about, and they need our help. This year Elizabeth Warren is up for re-election, along with eight other EMILY's List senators and all of our House candidates. The GOP would love nothing more than to see them go. Patricia,

Last night, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell silenced Senator Elizabeth Warren as she read a letter from civil rights icon Coretta Scott King during debate over Alabama Senator Jeff Sessions' nomination for attorney general.

Warren used the letter to underline her concerns about Sessions' history of derogatory and racist comments — something that should absolutely be considered in evaluating an attorney general nominee.

Donate now to help elect more pro-choice Democratic women who will refuse to be silent.

Mitch McConnell explained his actions by saying, "She was warned. She was given an explanation. Nevertheless, she persisted."

You can bet your bottom dollar she persisted.

Elizabeth Warren and other EMILY's List women are fighting nonstop for the things we care about, and they need our help. This year Elizabeth Warren is up for re-election, along with eight other EMILY's List senators and all of our House candidates.

The GOP would love nothing more than to see them go.

Donate to fund the fight and keep our pro-choice Democratic women champions in office:
