We've got a big opportunity right now.
Starting today, members of Congress are going on recess and returning to their home districts. They'll be closer to where they can see the tangible, personal impact of repealing Obamacare with no firm plan to replace it -- and they'll be able to hear us.
So over the course of the next week, OFA partners and supporters like you are participating in action events to ensure elected officials can hear their constituents' voices. They'll be attending town halls, visiting members of Congress' offices, and getting together to build community support for the movement to defend Obamacare, the law that's helped tens of millions of Americans get the health care they need.
They need to hear from us in this town, civilly, respectfully, and directly, that repealing Obamacare would be irresponsible and cruel.
What: Defend Obamacare Day of Action
Where: 1200 Vale Terrace Dr.
Vista, CA 92084
When: Tuesday, February 21ˢᵗ
This is the right and the privilege we enjoy as a part of this democracy: to be able, as regular citizens, to call on our elected officials to represent us. This is one of our best opportunities to let them know how we feel. We've seen powerful momentum on this issue, as members of Congress who once spoke of "full repeal on day one" are realizing that they won't get away with taking quality, affordable care away from their constituents without a fight, but we have to keep the pressure up.
Attending this event is one of the most effective ways to do just that.
Thanks for all you're doing -- let's keep this fight going strong.
