The bravery and sacrifices of those who have proudly worn the uniform allow us to live in peace here at home, and for that we are eternally grateful. Nebraskans have a long and proud tradition of military service to our great country. I join my fellow Nebraskans and all Americans in honoring the men and women who have served and fought for the United States and its cherished principles of freedom, justice and democracy. I also want to take this opportunity to remind you of a project my office has been involved with, to preserve the stories of wartime veterans. The Veterans History Project provides an opportunity for volunteers to record the oral histories of our veterans. My staff offers training and guidance so you can interview a friend, parent, family member or neighbor. Or, my office can pair you with a veteran. Senator Johanns e-Update
November 11, 2012

This Veterans Day we pause to thank the servicemen and women who have fought to defend our freedom.
