Bush and Ken Hersh, President and CEO of the George W. Bush Presidential Center, spoke before packed crowds at the Milken Institute Global Conference in Beverly Hills, Calif. On Tuesday, Hersh participated in a lively panel discussing partisanship and America’s political divide. Fellow panelists included Gov. Steve Bullock of Montana; Eric Cantor , former Majority Leader of the U.S. House of Representatives; Jason Grumet , Founder and President of the Bipartisan Policy Center; Neera Tanden , President and CEO of the Center for American Progress; and moderator Chuck Todd of NBC News. On Wednesday, President Bush joined Michael Milken onstage for an off-camera conversation that covered topics including the transition from the White House to civilian life, the Bush Institute’s important work in education and women’s empowerment, his recent trip to Africa, and his continuing commitment to helping America’s post-9/11 veterans make a successful transition to civilian life.
