Ron Paul's Farewell Address to Congress (
Ron Paul is retiring from Congress this year. He just gave a wide-ranging farewell speech to Congress. The 48 minute address includes this dire
"If it's not accepted that big government, fiat money, ignoring liberty, central economic planning, welfarism, and warfarism caused our crisis we can
expect a continuous and dangerous march toward corporatism and even fascism with even more loss of our liberties."
The solution falls on each and every individual, with guidance from family, friends and community:
"The #1 responsibility for each of us is to change ourselves with hope that others will follow. This is of greater importance than working on changing
the government; that is secondary to promoting a virtuous society. If we can achieve this, then the government will change."
What a thought provoking speech! It's well worth watching, reading or listening to. Watch the speech on YouTube (

"As a immigrant from China and naturalized citizen of United States, and a trained Physician, inventor and entrepreneur, I am very encouraged by your
speech at Congress today.
To correct a problem, we must first recognize a problem. The founding fathers of this country asked for a equal opportunity society, home of the free
and brave. Unfortunately, it seems that many Americans simply forgot that.
Although I don't agree with every thing you said, especially the part about drugs, but I agree with all your principles. I hope you will stay in the
public eye and continue to lead even during your retirement. This country can not afford to lose a leader like you.
"Until my death, it will fail to amaze me that more Americans could not hear, accept and embrace the wisdom that is Ron Paul. This country has talked,
argued and joked for the entire 55 years of my life, and I'm sure a lot longer, about our leaders in government and how we need new ideas and someone
willing to fight for our freedoms; freedoms we have and wish to keep as well as freedoms we have lost or never had. Yet, every election the American
voter votes in the same old politicians. The politician's age, sex, color or religious beliefs may be different, but the politician's ideas, policies
and government are always the same. Politicians are millionaires and most of us Americans are in debt. Why cannot America see and understand what Ron
Paul says and stands for? Ron Paul is a once in a lifetime political dream for the average un-wealthy American; his brand of politics could save us
and the American dream. His policies could bring to reality what America's fore-fathers dreamed for this country. His understanding and commitment to
the U.S. Constitution could bring it to life. Ron Paul will be missed by me."
"Yes! This is the reason our 'state' run education touts Abe as the 'good' president, similar to WWII as the 'good war'! Think of that! A 'good
war'!!! A grouping of city-states would be so much more manageable than the cumbersome collection of huge states tied together with hundreds of
thousands of laws!"
Thank you for your service over the years. We owe you a debt of gratitude.
I hope that before you leave Washington, you can rally the Tea Party Republicans in the House to REFUSE raising the debt ceiling. I didn't see the
wisdom of this action last time around, mistakenly thinking there was will in the Congress to actually address the out-of-control spending. This time,
I suffer no illusions.
President Obama has NO intention on compromise with the House over the fiscal cliff, nor on entitlement reform. The ONLY way I see to force compromise
is to keep the debt ceiling intact, thereby forcing a default balanced budget. This would almost certainly lead to serious attempts in Congress to
reach agreement on tax reform and spending.
Please keep up the good fight while you're still in Congress, and enjoy your well deserved time away from the craziness.
