A Father’s Unconditional Love
A father provides a child unconditional love, is a protector, mentor, and friend. As visitors enter the George W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum, the images and childhood stories of President and Mrs. Bush embody those values. Their lives were shaped in great part from the lessons and wisdom imparted to them by their fathers— President George H.W. Bush and Harold Welch—and helped guide their lives of public service.
This Father’s Day, we echo President Bush’s 2005 Father’s Day Proclamation: “A father's example helps shape the character and values that his children will carry with them into adulthood, and the lessons he teaches remain with them for a lifetime.”
