Friend -- As President Obama's Chief of Staff, I talked with representatives and senators, on both sides of the aisle, almost every day I went to work. Maintaining those relationships was a major part of my job. So I feel pretty comfortable saying that what's happening right now in the Senate with this health care bill is completely unprecedented. As Senate leaders continue to rush through a bill that no one has seen to repeal the Affordable Care Act and dismantle Medicaid -- despite the fact that these programs are working for millions of families -- I'm left with one question: how does this make health care for Americans better? The bill would push millions of people off of their health care, taking away the financial security and peace of mind that comes with having insurance, and raise costs for everyone. All for the sake of a political "win." That will make health care in America worse -- and it's up to all of us to do something about it. Tomorrow, I'll be speaking on a call with OFA supporters and grassroots leaders from the many organizations fighting this important fight across the country. First and foremost, I want to thank you for all the work you've been doing to protect Americans' health care. We'll also be discussing updates on the health care front, and going over what you can do to stop the Senate from moving forward with their plan to repeal this law and harm so many of our fellow Americans. Friend --

As President Obama's Chief of Staff, I talked with representatives and senators, on both sides of the aisle, almost every day I went to work. Maintaining those relationships was a major part of my job.
