The Bush Institute's Military Service Initiative has worked with more than 70 partner organizations over the past six months to create more collaboration and coordination in the veteran space. Research shows that while every veteran transition looks different, there are three keys to a successful transition: health and wellbeing, education, and employment. There is a sea of goodwill dedicated to supporting military veterans and their families with these issues as they transition back into civilian life. But, too often, these efforts do not align, which can create confusion and gaps in service to transitioning veterans and their families. Today at 9:00 a.m. EDT in Washington D.C., President Bush, Mrs. Bush, and Secretary of Veterans Affairs David Shulkin will address the gaps in service to transitioning veterans and their families at the Bush Institute’s "Stand-To," a national convening of key leaders from across the public, private, and non-profit sectors.
