Patricia, HUGE NEWS: Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell delayed the vote on Trumpcare. This is a critical victory, but a delay doesn't mean this cruel and heartless bill is gone for good. Here's a reminder of how shady the Senate GOP has been since the House passed the health care debate over to them: First, McConnell formed a group of 13 men and ZERO women to draft a Senate version of Trumpcare. Shady. Next, they insisted on drafting the bill in secret, blocking Democrats and the public from the process. Extra shady. Then, after promising to put forward something completely new and better than the House version, Republican senators just repackaged what the House had already passed. SO much shadiness. After FINALLY releasing the bill, they tried to rush it through the Senate without hearings or a detailed debate. When Democrats passed Obamacare, the full Senate debated it for nearly a month. If Republicans follow through with their plans to use a special legislative process to pass the bill with 51 votes instead of 60, Trumpcare won't get more than ONE FULL DAY of debate. Republicans are clearly scared of moving this highly unpopular and incredibly dangerous bill. If we want to stop Trumpcare for good, we need to send a message that a vote for Trumpcare will cost you your seat. Donate $3 before June is over to help raise the $250,000 we need to challenge any shady and shameless Republicans who would vote to take health insurance from 22 million people just to give the rich another tax break: secure.emilyslist.org/page/contribute/20170626_email_EOQ Thanks, Leila McDowell Vice President of Communications, EMILY's List
