What they're doing to immigrants - starting tonight

Friend -- It's starting tonight. In just a few hours, this administration will ban travelers and refugees from six predominantly Muslim countries from entering the United States. Lower courts had blocked this notorious Muslim ban for months, but the Supreme Court has allowed it while they decide whether they agree with two lower courts who found it violated our core constitutional value of religious freedom. And while the administration is pushing racial and religious profiling from the executive branch, Congress is doing its part to rubber-stamp their harsh agenda in their own way -- this ban is going into effect the same day the House just passed two anti-immigrant measures designed to punish cities with community trust policies in place that protect all residents, regardless of their immigration status. These policies are many things, but they won't make us safer, or fix our broken immigration system. Here's what these things have in common: an extreme agenda that isn't rooted in facts. An affront to the core values that make our country what it is -- a sanctuary from persecution and violence where people can worship freely, and a place where, for hundreds of years, people have come to seek out a better life and the American Dream. What starts tonight is a Muslim ban. This ban -- and the ugly swipes at immigrant communities being pushed through Congress -- won't keep us safe, and they run against everything we stand for as a county. We'll need to do everything possible in the coming months to fight back. As key members of the House rubber-stamp this agenda this week, we need to hold them accountable. Friend --

It's starting tonight.

Say you'll be right there with us:
