A new message from your friends at People For the American Way. Dear Anne, Yesterday was the first meeting of Trump's "Presidential Commission on Election Integrity" -- a convening of voter suppression activists tasked with the mission of uncovering mass illegal voting in the 2016 election. Of course, there wasn't any large scale mass illegal voting during the election -- Trump simply didn't win the popular vote. site.pfaw.org/site/R Unpack the first meeting of the commission with PFAW experts by watching our Facebook Live panel at 3 pm ET today! You can find it live at site.pfaw.org/site/R . site.pfaw.org/site/R (Note: you can tune in at that link even if you do not have a Facebook account.) Since there is no evidence of mass illegal voting occurring in the 2016 presidential election, the intention of this commission is clearly to come up with ways to suppress voter turnout in future elections. Some of the superstars of the commission, namely Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach, Heritage Foundation staffer Hans von Spakovsky, and Ohio Secretary of State Ken Blackwell, have long supported and implemented different methods of preventing voters from exercising their rights. Our panelists today include Christin "Cici" Battle, director of Young People For, Diallo Brooks, People For director of outreach, and Peter Montgomery, a senior fellow and writer for Right Wing Watch. We hope you can join us today at 3:00 Eastern Time (2 Central; 1 Mountain; 12 Pacific)!
