Nebraskans have a long tradition of helping neighbors in need, and I see this in every community I travel to throughout the year. But at no time of year is this spirit of giving so strongly on display than during the holidays. I was overwhelmed with the response from so many classes, church groups, offices and individuals who participated in the Holiday Mail for Heroes program. Nearly 2,000 cards were dropped off at my offices for delivery to our service men and women overseas. What a wonderful display of kindness and appreciation for our troops, who along with their families, sacrifice so much for our great country. Whether it's volunteers serving at a local food bank or individuals helping the homeless, I commend all the volunteers and the work they do to make the season a little brighter for those in need. <iqs3.solutions.lmit.com/iqextranet/Customers/quorum_johanns-iq/ foodbank.jpg> Sen.
