Seeking "The Wisdom of the District" - Raising the Debt Ceiling

According to the Treasury Department, the debt ceiling will be reached in a matter of weeks. However, “extraordinary means” must be used to push the date back to February 2013. Some argue that the President should have unilateral authority to raise the debt ceiling without a vote in Congress. Do you think this should be the way the U.S. raises the debt ceiling, both now and in the future?

( ) Yes. The Full Faith and Credit of the United States should never be put at risk for political gain.

( ) Yes. The President should have the authority to raise the debt ceiling because he is the Chief Executive.

( ) No. The national debt of our country stands at more than $16 trillion and continues to rise at an alarming rate. This must stop now.

( ) No. No individual should have the unilateral power to further burden our country with mounting debt. Congress should vote on any increase.

( ) I have another answer.
