This cemetery will serve veterans in eastern Nebraska, western Iowa and northwest Missouri. Getting this project started has been a priority of mine, and I am happy to see it moving. The cemetery will have great significance for our veterans and their families. It will provide Nebraskans, and all Americans who come to visit it, a place to honor those who have protected our country. Our veterans are American heroes and should be remembered every day we exercise the freedoms they fought to preserve. The VA plans to award a design contract for this project early next year. I will keep you updated on its progress as the project enters its next phases.
