A new message from your friends at People For the American Way. *********************** Anne, Republicans in Virginia from the former RNC chair running for governor, Ed Gillespie, all the way down the ballot are running on extreme right-wing positions, their allegiance to Trump, and divisive, race-baiting campaign messages designed to help them replicate Trump’s success at the state level. Trump has echoed the racist attacks and is activating his army of supporters in this race... The Koch brothers' main dark money group, Americans for Prosperity, is spending big on attack ads... And Republican Ed Gillespie has a MASSIVE money advantage -- due to his Big Money and special interest donors -- over Democratic gubernatorial candidate Ralph Northam... We can't let them succeed -- but we’ll only stop them with your help. We have exactly one month to go until Election Day! ALL GIFTS UNTIL TOMORROW AT MIDNIGHT WILL BE MATCHED! Please make an urgent donation of $7 or more now that I will make sure gets put to work immediately to defeat Trump Republicans in this year’s most consequential election>> act.pfaw.org/donate/virginia-2017/ In an article titled, “The first real electoral test of the Donald Trump era is on the horizon,” CNN points out that: “Gillespie has doggedly refused to directly criticize Trump or directly disavow almost any of his policy initiatives. Gillespie didn't denounce Trump's widely denounced response to the Charlottesville violence and he has steadfastly refused to take a position on any of the serial Republican efforts to repeal the Affordable Care Act.” The article also notes that Gillespie “has placed a surprising emphasis on some Trump-like themes” like opposing the removal of confederate monuments, fearmongering about "sanctuary cities" that refuse to cooperate with Trump’s inhumane immigration crackdowns, and even attempts to link Democratic candidate Ralph Northam to the violent Central American gang MS-13. We can and we must defeat these Trump Republicans show them that they can’t keep winning on the Trump formula of racial resentment and hate. We have the programs in place to do it … But it’s going to take every PFAW member engaged and invested in this fight. All donations today and tomorrow will be MATCHED! Please contribute to making this essential progressive victory happen with your most generous donation now>> act.pfaw.org/donate/virginia-2017/ Thanks for everything you do. In an article titled, “The first real electoral test of the Donald Trump era is on the horizon,” CNN points out that:

“Gillespie has doggedly refused to directly criticize Trump or directly disavow almost any of his policy initiatives. Gillespie didn't denounce Trump's widely denounced response to the Charlottesville violence and he has steadfastly refused to take a position on any of the serial Republican efforts to repeal the Affordable Care Act.”

The article also notes that Gillespie “has placed a surprising emphasis on some Trump-like themes” like opposing the removal of confederate monuments, fearmongering about "sanctuary cities" that refuse to cooperate with Trump’s inhumane immigration crackdowns, and even attempts to link Democratic candidate Ralph Northam to the violent Central American gang MS-13.

We can and we must defeat these Trump Republicans show them that they can’t keep winning on the Trump formula of racial resentment and hate.

We have the programs in place to do it … But it’s going to take every PFAW member engaged and invested in this fight.
