Rigell Applauds House Leadership's
Decision to Move Forward
'No Budget, No Pay' Act

Washington DC - Today Representative Scott Rigell (VA-2), a Member of the House Committee on the Budget and founding Member of the Fix Congress Now Caucus, released the following statement on the House Leadership’s decision to move forward the ‘No Budget, No Pay’ Act:

"I have long supported the bipartisan 'No Budget, No Pay' Act, and am pleased that the House leadership will bring it to the floor next week."

"We must continue to pursue legislation that puts our country on a sound financial path. Every American family has a budget; so too should the US government, and Members of Congress must be held accountable toward that goal."

Rigell, who started the Fix Congress Now Caucus as a vehicle to bring reform to Washington, was an early advocate of the 'No Budget, No Pay' bill. Since entering Congress, Rigell has declined federal benefits and returns 15% of his annual salary to the federal treasury for debt reduction.
