Joe Biden and I both believe this:

Hi there -- A week ago today, I was pacing around a restaurant in Northern Virginia, waiting to see if I'd be representing our Commonwealth's 13th District in the House of Delegates. Nineteen of 20 precincts had been counted, but I refused to be more than cautiously optimistic. Then, my phone rang. On the other end, a voice told me they had Joe Biden on the line. He wanted to say congratulations. When the former Vice President of the United States calls you, that's usually when you can declare victory. After I got off the phone, I paced around the restaurant, walked into the dining hall and told my volunteers that Joe Biden called me... and that we won. As the roar of their cheers drowned out my thoughts, I slid alongside the wall and just sat, crying without tears. Silent with gratitude and disbelief. Joe Biden and American Possibilities stood with me. They helped me win my election. Today, I'm asking you to donate what you can to help more candidates win all across the country -- through 2018 and beyond: go.americanpossibilities.org/donate It had been a long, hard-fought campaign. I'd spent months knocking doors and speaking face-to-face with Virginians about what they'd like to see fixed. Namely, the horrific congestion on Route 28. Yes, that's right: I was an openly transgender candidate running for public office at one of the most politically divided moments in our recent history -- and I was talking about traffic. Why? Well, I've got this old-fashioned belief that our elected officials ought to actually fix the problems our constituents face. I'm grateful that Joe Biden shares that belief. And the top issue we face in the 13th District is making sure morning rush hour on Route 28 isn't unbearable. It was awful in 1992 and it's awful today. It's time to change it, and I am so grateful that I've been chosen as the right person for the job. Now, it's time to replicate that all across the country. American Possibilities is fighting to elect leaders who actually care about solving problems -- not mouthing off, grandstanding, or scoring political points. That sounds good to me. How about you? Give what you can to help seize the momentum of last week's elections and continue changing the face of leadership all across our country: go.americanpossibilities.org/donate Thank you, from the bottom of my heart. -Danica ---- This email was sent to xxx. American Possibilities

Mary --

A week ago today, I was pacing around a restaurant in Northern Virginia, waiting to see if I'd be representing our Commonwealth's 13th District in the House of Delegates.

Today, I'm asking you to donate what you can to help more candidates win all across the country -- through 2018 and beyond.

It had been a long, hard-fought campaign.

Give what you can to help seize the momentum of last week's elections and continue changing the face of leadership all across our country:
