Shutdown.

Friend -- This administration and their rubber stamp representatives in Congress have spent the last year putting the priorities of the wealthiest Americans above working, middle-class families. And this month, their partisan games could send us into a government shutdown. Serious leaders like Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi are working on solutions to keep the government open and follow through on the promises we've made, but Mitch McConnell and Paul Ryan seem intent on forcing a shutdown -- proposing a two-week extension that merely kicks the can down the road. We need to make sure we address the urgent challenges we face. This should not be how America works. Congressional leadership has made it clear what they value. The White House and leaders in both chambers of Congress have used their power to push for Obamacare repeal, and hand huge tax breaks to the wealthy and corporations. They've failed to fund the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP), putting health care for 9 million kids at risk. Friend --

This administration and their rubber stamp representatives in Congress have spent the last year putting the priorities of the wealthiest Americans above working, middle-class families.

Washington may be divided but every day Americans are united when it comes to keeping the government open.

A budget is about values -- how we choose to spend our money is proof of what we care about.

And as you're reading this, they're pushing to vastly expand concealed carry gun laws.

What we need is a comprehensive, bipartisan government funding bill. One that keeps our promises to DREAMers and DACA recipients. One that funds CHIP. One that puts our money where our mouth is and shows how much we value our seniors and our veterans.

Over the next few weeks, OFA is organizing to prevent Congress from shutting down the government. We're organizing to keep the promises we made to immigrant families and families on CHIP. Say you'll join the fight:
