Little by little

Friend -- Little by little, bit by bit, we're carving a path towards a more fair democracy. Last night, for the first time ever, a federal court ruled that a congressional district was drawn to favor one party over another, and was therefore unconstitutional. The court ordered North Carolina's legislature to redraw their maps by January 24th. That's a big win for fair representation. Courts have struck down certain maps because of gerrymandering before, but this is an explicit nod from the courts that people -- not politicians --should pick their representatives. From the ruling: "Partisan gerrymandering runs contrary to numerous fundamental democratic principles and individual rights enshrined in the Constitution." This movement is just getting started, friend. We have to continue supporting decisions like these and organizing around efforts to ensure every American is represented fairly. We're going to see more wins this year -- make sure you're a part of them. Together with the NDRC, we're going to make our democracy better: my.ofa.us/Fair-Democracy Thank you, Jack Jack Shapiro Director of Policy and Campaigns Organizing for Action

Friend --

Little by little, bit by bit, we're carving a path towards a more fair democracy.
