The 2018 Engage at the Bush Center presented by Highland Capital Management schedule launches on Monday, Feb. 5 with a special two-part program: ‚ÄúConstitutional Conversations: Justice Scalia‚Äôs Memorable Speeches / James Madison & Today‚Äôs Media.‚ÄĚ The evening will begin with a conversation with Christopher Scalia, author of Scalia Speaks: Reflections on Law, Faith, and Life Well Lived. The second portion of the evening will feature a panel of experts discussing today‚Äôs media landscape and what First Amendment author James Madison might have thought of it. Admission is free of charge, but you must register below.

This week the Bush Center welcomed former NASA Administrator Sean O'Keefe, along with Mike Leinbach and Jonathan Ward, co-authors of the new book, "Bringing Columbia Home." <forms.bushcenter.org/page.redir
The book tells the moving and powerful story of the aftermath of the 2003 Columbia Space Shuttle tragedy. Not long after losing Columbia on reentry, O'Keefe spoke with President Bush by phone. ‚ÄúThe first words out of the President‚Äôs mouth were, ‚ÄėWhere are the families?‚Äô That set the whole tone for everything we did that day. It reminded us what was really important.‚ÄĚ

Boeing has awarded $ 10 million to the Bush Institute's Military Service Initiative in support of veterans' programs and services, including the inaugural year of the Stand-To Veteran Leadership Initiative. SPREAD THE WORD | NORTH KOREA FREEDOM SCHOLARSHIP NOW ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS
Several hundred North Koreans have risked everything to escape to the U.S. After studying the North Korean refugee community and its needs, the Bush Institute established the scholarship to help escapees pursue a range of educational opportunities and build new lives in freedom. The application closes April 1.
