TELL YOUR U.S. SENATORS:  REAL IMMIGRATION REFORM OR
Dear Unity --
This week, the United States Senate is discussing the issue of
immigration reform.
Unfortunately, as we feared, many of their legislative options are
bad ones.  In fact, some are so bad that maintaining the broken status
quo would be better.
We continue to believe that of all offered proposals, the House’s
H.R. 4760, the Securing America’s Future Act, introduced by Rep. Bob
Goodlatte (R-VA/6th), is by far the best starting point for
negotiation.  The Senate clearly disagrees.
After our recent Action Alert, thousands of emails and phone calls
went to the Hill in support of H.R. 4760.  If you contacted your
legislators about this bill, thank you!  Remember every call or email
represents 1,000 constituents.
Today, as the topic of immigration reform is under consideration in
the U.S. Senate, we need you to make your voice heard again.
Please take a moment to reach out to your two Senators.  Let them
hear this very simple message in a firm, but respectful way:
Though not perfect, H.R. 4760, the Goodlatte bill, is the
starting point on immigration reform.
More importantly, let them know that any immigration bill
passed by the U.S. Congress must include
- Immediate and full funding for a wall on our southern
border, as President Trump has requested.
- A complete and immediate end to chain migration, as
President Trump has requested.
- A complete and immediate end to the Visa lottery program,
as President Trump has requested.
Period. Nothing else is acceptable.
The U.S. Congress must fix our broken immigration system -- now --
before the next terrorist takes advantage of our current
and forward this alert to everyone you know who wants the U.S. secure,
now and for future generations.
Thank you for all that you do on behalf of our country.
