I need your help to protect taxpayer dollars

Dear Unity, We've all been on the receiving end of aggressive and unwelcome sales tactics. Unfortunately, these practices may have become all too common in the medical equipment industry. Some suppliers target individuals who might be eligible for anything from electronic scooters to back braces, make repeated calls to their homes without prior approval from doctors, send blanket form requests to doctors without the patients' approval, and could be billing the government for millions of dollars in "services" that aren't authorized.  To make matters worse, the government has failed to recover nearly $70 million in overpayments to medical equipment companies. I chair the Subcommittee on Financial & Contracting Oversight, and our responsibility is to protect taxpayer dollars and crack down on government waste. This time, I need your help to do it. I've scheduled a hearing for the morning of Wednesday, April 24th-assembling the top officials from agencies, those responsible for oversight, and representatives of the medical equipment industry. I'm determined to get to the bottom of this issue. If you've got personal experiences dealing with the aggressive sales and marketing tactics common in the medical equipment industry please write my office at xxx and tell us your story.  I've always fought to protect taxpayer dollars-and that will be my goal at this upcoming hearing. With help from you, we can put a stop to these abusive practices. All the best, P.S. Dear Unity,

We've all been on the receiving end of aggressive and unwelcome sales tactics. Unfortunately, these practices may have become all too common in the medical equipment industry.
