U.S. Senator Barbara Boxer
2013-05-06 17:37:30
News from Barbara Boxer, United States Senator from California Dear Friend: Today I wrote to Veterans Affairs Secretary Eric Shinseki urging the VA to ensure that all veterans at high risk for suicide get the follow-up care they need. To read more, including my letter to Secretary Shinseki, please go to: www.boxer.senate.gov/en/press/releases/050613.cfm. An alarming recent report found that 30 percent of veterans hospitalized for acute mental illness and identified as being at high risk for suicide did not receive the required evaluations after leaving the hospital. Our veterans deserve more, and we cannot rest until these brave men and women get the care they deserve. Sincerely, Barbara Boxer United States Senator
