Right now, the Water Resources Development Act (WRDA) is being debated on the Senate floor. This bill is important for Louisiana because it will provide critical flood protection for communities across the country and maintain the flow of commerce and the jobs that go with it. But I also want it to stop premium rate increases for those who have National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) coverage.

We don't have time to wait—we need to stop these rate increases now.
That's why today I introduced an amendment to WRDA that will stop premium rate increases until FEMA conducts an affordability study and Congress can act on the results.
