Just today we learned from a top IRS official that the agency singled out political groups based on ideology for review last year. Groups with phrases and words like "tea party" or "patriot" included in their tax-exempt status applications were targeted, and in some cases asked for their donor lists, which is against most IRS policies. These recent revelations beg the question: What more is the Obama Administration doing that we don't know about? A government of, by and for the people must be committed to transparency and built upon trust. These actions have shattered that trust. We must get to the bottom of this, and the Obama Administration owes to the American people nothing less than a full, truthful account. Senator Johanns e-Update
May 10, 2013

Most of you have probably read about the Obama Administration’s attempt to hide details related to the attack on our consulate in Benghazi, Libya, as well as EPA’s release of private information about ag producers. Just today we learned from a top IRS official that the agency singled out political groups based on ideology for review last year. Groups with phrases and words like “tea party” or “patriot” included in their tax-exempt status applications were targeted, and in some cases asked for their donor lists, which is against most IRS policies.

These recent revelations beg the question: What more is the Obama Administration doing that we don’t know about?

A government of, by and for the people must be committed to transparency and built upon trust. These actions have shattered that trust. We must get to the bottom of this, and the Obama Administration owes to the American people nothing less than a full, truthful account.
