Political Targeting at the IRS




As new revelations emerge regarding the Internal Revenue Service targeting conservative groups, the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee held a hearing to dive deeper into the issue. Congressman Chaffetz questioned Former IRS Commissioner Doug Shulman during the hearing.

Emotional Benghazi Hearing

On May 8, the Oversight and Government Reform Committee held a hearing that examined new information about the events surrounding the terrorist attacks on the American compound in BenghaziLibya on September 11, 2012. Three officials from the State Department gave emotional personal accounts of the attacks as they were questioned by lawmakers for nearly six hours.

Why Benghazi Matters

In an editorial published by U.S. News and World Report, Congressman Chaffetz explains why getting to the truth of the attacks in Benghazi is still relevent. He says: “Benghazi matters... because the White House and the State Department have engaged in misdirection at the highest levels to cover up whatever happened there. It’s not too late to learn the truth."

Questioning Attorney General Eric Holder

During a House Judiciary Committee hearing, Congressman Chaffetz asked Attorney General Eric Holder why it took so long for the President to be briefed on the General Petraeus investigation. Holder answered that he can’t comment on an “ongoing investigation.”
