The Kirk Report Dear Friends, Last week, while the Senate stood in recess, I traveled home to meet with constituents and discuss topics that are important to Illinois families. I would like to update you on my trip. *Memorial Day* [image = www.kirk.senate.gov/images/navy2.JPG] I had the pleasure of riding along with my dear friend Arlene Mulder, former mayor of Arlington Heights, at the village's Memorial Day Parade. After the parade, I participated in a ceremony at Memorial Park to honor and remember all those who have given their lives for our nation. During the ceremony, I presented the Bronze Star Medal to Lake Forest resident Daniel Field, who accepted it on behalf of his late father, Edward Field, a WWII veteran. On Wednesday, Senator Durbin and I met with U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Illinois nominee Zachary Fardon to discuss his confirmation process and the need to prioritize prosecution of violent crime and political corruption in the U.S. Attorney's office.
