Richard Burr, US Senator North Carolina Every year, Americans take time to celebrate the founding of our nation. As we celebrate with family and friends this Fourth of July, and participate in community events and commemorate our nations founding, it is important to look beyond the fanfare to appreciate the significance of the celebration of our nations independence. The Fourth of July is both a celebration and demonstration of our national unity. It is an opportunity for people of all backgrounds and histories to join together under their common bonds as citizens of the United States of America. This Fourth of July, let us celebrate our nation, founded on the rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, that has persevered for 237 years. We live in a country that has built on the hard work, determination, and sacrifice of the generations that came before us so let us never waiver in our commitment to pass on a hopeful future. Let us also never forget that this celebration would not be possible without those who have served and continue to serve in our armed forces. We thank them for their selfless service and pray for them and their families. God bless you all and may God bless the United States of America. Happy Fourth of July. Sincerely, [image = burr.enews.senate.gov//images/user_images/sig_block.gif] Richard Burr Tell a Friend* Survey/Question [survey] E-mail Updates* *Yes, please periodically send me e-mail updates.** [image = burr.enews.senate.gov/images/clickherebtn.gif] [link 1] *By subscribing to my e-mail updates, you are authorizing me to send regular e-mail updates from my office to your e-mail account.
