Hatch Dispatch: A $400 Million Mistake at Taxpayer’s ExpenseDear Friend:This week we watched as President Obama tried to explain the technical glitches that have plagued healthcare.gov. However, the answers left only more questions and frustration. The launch of the ObamaCare exchanges has been nothing short of a disaster that’s rightly earned the derision of comedians and late night talk show hosts and the anger and frustration of the American people. For the first time in our nation’s history, every American is required to purchase health insurance even if they don’t want it. Yet three weeks into its launch, the web site for people to sign up for insurance still isn’t ready for primetime – and won’t be for some time. The question the Obama Administration must answer is why weren’t the ‘best and brightest’ working on this system from day one?Not only is this law with its massive tax hikes, impact on job creators who aren’t hiring and pushing people off their insurance, and massive increase in federal spending – a disaster. The rollout has been a $400-plus million dollar mistake at the taxpayer’s expense. The question is once again for President Obama and Congressional Democrats – are they satisfied? I can’t imagine that they are. The Republican party has done its part – we’ve forced many changes to the law and then the Administration has made unilateral changes as well delaying the employer mandate for example. Now it’s time for the Democrats to step up to the plate as well, because it’s their constituents who are also feeling the pain from this massive government expansion that is ObamaCare. The fight isn’t over. ObamaCare is a disaster and I will continue to fight to gut it and provide positive alternatives for our nation’s health care system. On a more positive note, I have thoroughly enjoyed being in Utah this week visiting with many of you at events, public speeches and even at the grocery store. I loved the discussion I had with members of the Women’s State Legislative Council; and attending the grand opening of a new NuSkin facility, and the inauguration of Weber State President Charles Wight -- both wonderful events and exciting new beginnings. I also had the opportunity to participate in many media interviews hopefully conveying important information about the state of affairs in our nation’s capital. I appreciate the support and friendship extended to me throughout this great state and I will continue to fight for you and the ideals that make Utah and its people the best in the country.Sincerely,Orrin Hatch

Hatch Dispatch: A $400 Million Mistake at Taxpayer’s Expense

Dear Friend:

This week we watched as President Obama tried to explain the technical glitches that have plagued healthcare.gov.

The question the Obama Administration must answer is why weren’t the ‘best and brightest’ working on this system from day one?

Not only is this law with its massive tax hikes, impact on job creators who aren’t hiring and pushing people off their insurance, and massive increase in federal spending – a disaster.

  NuSkin Grand Opening

                 Utah Women's State Legislative Council

I appreciate the support and friendship extended to me throughout this great state and I will continue to fight for you and the ideals that make Utah and its people the best in the country.

Sincerely,

Orrin Hatch
