I've just announced that I'm seeking re-election to the U.S. Senate in 2016.
You stood with me when I sought office in 2010.
Now I'm asking you to stand with me again in 2016.
You see, I first ran for office because I was alarmed by the issues facing our country.
And like many Kentuckians, I know that our country can't afford to continue down our current path.
These problems threaten everything that makes America exceptional.
We have a stagnant and uneven economy, a growing national debt, out-of-control federal spending, a disastrous health care plan, an assault on our civil rights and liberties, and a misguided foreign policy.
I have brought these issues to the national forefront and -- if re-elected -- will continue to fight against the War on Coal, an overzealous EPA and Army Corps of Engineers, and the ban on industrial hemp.
I stand with Kentucky in this fight.
And I hope to continue in the task of repairing and revitalizing our great nation.
Will"you support my re-election to the U.S. Senate in 2016?
Since Kentuckians elected me in 2010, my office has been one of the most productive and active in Washington.
With the help of supporters like you, I have fought to:
***Fix Kentucky's crumbling infrastructure.
I have introduced the Emergency Transportation Safety Fund Act, which would prioritize a transportation fund for much-needed projects in Kentucky and across the nation by allowing overseas capital to be repatriated back home at a low 5% interest rate.
***Overturn the ban on industrial hemp.
Kentucky recently passed industrial hemp legislation that I helped to promote. I have also introduced a bill in the U.S. Senate that would remove the federal restrictions on hemp.
***Repeal No Child Left Behind.
I have forced a vote to repeal this federal takeover of our education system that most Kentucky teachers, administrators and parents oppose.
***Avert the closing of the Hickman River Port.
I helped push for measures that would benefit smaller harbors facing shutdowns, including the Hickman-Fulton County River Port.
***Help Kentucky's defense communities.
I have introduced legislation that would allow deployed service members to be counted in the communities in which their permanent duty station or home is located on the date of the census, communities such as Fort Knox and Fort Campbell.
***Protect Kentucky property owners from the EPA.
I have introduced legislation to rein in the EPA's war on private property. Thousands of property owners across America -- and in Kentucky -- face aggressive action from the EPA and the Army Corps, with no legal means to fight back. My bill would place reasonable restrictions on an agency that has become dangerously out of control.
I will always stand up for Kentucky and fight for what makes America the greatest and most free nation in the world.
And believe me, my message of liberty and Constitutional government is catching fire across America.
My colleagues in Washington are taking notice that Kentuckians and Americans of all stripes demand representatives who'll fight for freedom and limited government.
That's why Kentucky GOP members of the Congressional delegation are backing my campaign, including Senator Mitch McConnell, Representatives Ed Whitfield, Brett Guthrie, Thomas Massie, Hal Rogers and Andy Barr.
Republican leaders serving in Frankfort, such as Kentucky Agriculture Commissioner James Comer, Kentucky Senate President Robert Stivers and House Republican Leader Jeff Hoover, are also endorsing my re-election.
Drawing attention and finding solutions for the problems facing Kentucky and America requires that we work with any and all who will fight for our values.
That's why -- as Republicans -- we must grow our party by welcoming outsiders and communicating a clear and bold message on where we stand on important issues.
But I need your help to make that happen.
If you agree, I hope you'll sign"your "I support Rand for Senate 2016" pledge right away.
And if you can, please chip"in $20 or $10 to help my re-election campaign to the U.S. Senate in 2016.
Everything that I've accomplished and will continue to fight for has only been possible because of patriots like you.
I pledge to always stand up for Kentucky's values. I've fulfilled that commitment since 2010 and I'll continue to uphold my promises until I leave public office.
So please let me know you still stand with me by signing"your pledge right away.
After you sign your pledge, please chip"in $20 or $10 right away to help my re-election campaign to the U.S. Senate in 2016.
Liberty and Constitutional government is a winning recipe, and I'm counting on you to help me blast that message across the Commonwealth!
So please sign"your pledge and chip in today!
U.S. Senator (R-KY)
