This afternoon, I delivered my farewell address on the Senate floor, reflecting upon more than three decades in public service. It's been an extraordinary ride. While I have spent time in various roles with foreign leaders and cultural icons, those that have truly inspired me have been ordinary men and women doing extraordinary things out of love and selflessness. From risking one's life to save a stranger's, to adopting five special needs children and creating a camp for many more, to putting the needs of one's community before one's own, witnessing selfless acts of love and courage has inspired me throughout my career. As we prepare for the holidays and gear up for a new year, let us remember what is truly important: loving one another and embracing life's blessings. My blessings of a loving, supportive family; the trust of Nebraskans and a deep commitment to faith have guided me throughout my career. I look back at 32 years in public office with a grateful heart and excitement for what's next for Stephanie and me. Thank you again for the privilege of serving you. It has truly been the honor of a lifetime. To view Sen.
